Some people suffer more from it than others, but in the end we all do it: sweat. Now that the temperatures are getting warmer, this problem is also coming back. And then especially with regard to our clothing. Nothing is as annoying as yellow stains in your favorite white or beige clothing. Fortunately, you don't have to throw your clothes in the trash right away, because with these hacks those annoying yellow sweat stains in clothing are a thing of the past.
1. Baking soda
If there is one household product that should not be missing in the house, it is without a doubt the good old baking soda. It only costs you a few euros for a good supply and you will enjoy it a lot. For example, it does not only prevent unpleasant odors in your refrigerator and you can clean your oven very well with it. It is also a great stuff to remove sweat stains from clothing.
Mix four tablespoons of baking soda with a little water, until it eventually forms a thick paste. Then spread it on the well-known yellow stains and let it sit for 30 minutes. Then rub gently with a brush and rinse it out or throw it in the washing machine.
2. Lemon juice and salt
No baking soda in the house, but lemon (juice) and salt? This combination will also remove sweat stains from white clothing. Put some lemon juice on the stain, then sprinkle salt over it and rub it in. Then leave it in the sun for 30 to 60 minutes and rinse it out or throw the item(s) in the washing machine.
3. White natural
Vinegar is a great way to freshen up your washing machine, but it also works to remove sweat stains from both white and coloured clothing. Mix white vinegar with water (about 50/50) and soak the item for 30 minutes. Then put the item in the washing machine.
For all tips, treating as soon as possible is key and the result may be less for clothing that has had sweat stains for a long time. In any case, do not use bleach, because this will only make matters worse. The dryer is also out of the question, because this will only make matters worse. In addition, it is always advisable to check which agent is best for which fabric.
